Author of Simple and Usable Web, Mobile, and Interaction Design
If you’ve ever seen someone shout at their laptop or throw down their phone in anger, then you’ll know that our response to the machines around us can be highly emotional. In human discourse, emotions play an important role in planning, decision making, and memory. Yet in much of UX design, we simply try to eradicate ‘negative’ emotions and then put a veneer of prettiness over an interface. In doing so, we’re ignoring some powerful tools for communication and connection. Designing for emotion needs to be about more than adding cheeky headlines or choosing nice colors. This presentation will give you the tools to go deeper.
